I love, love, love school.
I love getting my papers organized in new folders, color co-ordinated, getting pens, pencils, and stuff together.
School started on 01/14........
Fundamentals of Communication (Damn those new gen-ed requirements. My teacher is a TOTAL bad word-first words out of her mouth were "i usually teach k-12 but i've discovered college students are a lot like 5 year olds" ugh. disgruntled face.)
Astronomy (my prof has 4 undergrad degrees and 2 grad degrees- he started working for NASA at 19- and he LOVES Harry Potter- how awesome is that?!?)
Fundamentals of Government (gotta get rid of a bad grade from eons ago- prof seems cool, tough but in a good way)
Tennessee History (teacher is SUPER nice, will make this seemingly ultra boring class ok)
Social Problems (love the prof.- class is discussion based-woohoo!)
Astronomy Lab (will meet on 01-22)
I've been in school for 2 days, spent roughly $260.00 on books, untold $$ on shiny new folders, pens, pencils, and a 3-hole punch I just had to have and a new backpack. I am ready to kick these classes ass!
Until I got home and realized how much reading was to be done. Then panic set in. Funny how panic doesn't take long to surface. WTF have I done?
Oh, god.
But luckily between a discussion with Dwayne ( "you don't have to do everything on your syllabus RIGHT NOW") and some texting with a strangelilman- I started to breathe again and realized that I can do this.....I just have to remember to take it a day at a time.
I had my follow up with the dentist and everything looks wonderful. As for the extended healing time I'm having...his only advice was for me to be patient (bottom teeth were extra deep, trauma to your body, etc, etc.) RIGHT. I am trying to take over the world here, doc!
My plan for tomorrow is to read. Read and make outlines..... Read, make outlines, take quizzes.... Read, make outlines, take quizzes, and not panic!

Amanda, you will do fine. Let me know if you need any help. My major was govt and history. I loved that stuff.
